On October 7, pop star Sabrina Carpenter stepped onto the hallowed Opry stage for the very first time and she didn’t shy away from the conversation. Mid-set, she admitted she’s “not technically a country girl,” citing her Pennsylvania upbringing. But that didn’t stop her from embracing the moment.
She joked, “But I’ve seen a couple cows in the middle of the road, so I just took it as you guys are my people too.” Then she dug deeper, paying homage to the legends that shaped her: “My mom raised me on artists that started here – Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, my favorite Dolly Parton – and so many more.”
During the show, she performed songs like “Please Please Please” and “Manchild,” and made sure to shine a light on her fellow performers that night like ERNEST, Kaitlyn Butts, and Marcus King. Sabrina called backstage “the best show ever,” saying she was blown away by the talent she got to witness.
