Zac Brown is opening up about how he popped the question to Austin’s own Kendra Scott.
The Zac Brown Band frontman proposed on July 24th, and let’s be honest, buying a ring for a woman who designs jewelry had to be a little intimidating. On the TODAY Show, Zac laughed about it, saying:
“What are you gonna get somebody that designs jewelry?”
Fair point, but he nailed it. Kendra’s rocking a gorgeous pink diamond that’s totally her style.

Ring recap: Zac didn’t pick just any sparkler, he went custom with Houston’s Valobra Master Jewelers, working alongside longtime friend and jeweler Franco Valobra. The result? A 3.06-carat GIA-certified fancy pink diamond (VVS2 clarity), set in platinum gold and surrounded by 28 baguette-cut white diamonds totaling 3.17 carats. Valobra has been hush about price, but rings like this typically start in the $400,000-plus range, before you add the extras.
The two made their red-carpet debut back in May at the American Music Awards, but it sounds like they’d been together for a while before that. Between them, they have eight kids, so they’re officially a full house.
A country star, a Texas jewelry queen, and a love story that comes with a whole lot of sparkle.
