Move over, Garth … there’s a new king of the RIAA mountain.
(The RIAA stands for the Recording Industry Association of America and it’s basically the organization that tracks and certifies music sales and streams in the U.S.)
Luke Combs has officially become the most RIAA-certified country artist of all time, racking up a massive 168 million certified units across his singles and albums. That number puts him ahead of Garth Brooks, who previously held the record.
If that sounds wild… it is. In less than a decade, Luke’s gone from posting cover videos online to selling out stadiums, winning CMA Entertainer of the Year, and now topping one of the biggest charts in the industry.
The RIAA certifications include streams and sales, and Luke’s catalog is loaded with heavy hitters, songs like “Beautiful Crazy,” “When It Rains It Pours,” “Hurricane,” and “Fast Car” all helped push him into record-breaking territory.
The North Carolina native hasn’t slowed down either. His “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” tour is packing out stadiums across the country.
Congrats, Luke!
