Let’s take it back to this date, October 6th in 1983 when George Strait was just getting started on his run as the King of Country. MCA Records dropped his third studio album, Right or Wrong, and the rest is honky-tonk history.
The record gave us three straight No. 1 hits: “You Look So Good in Love,” “Right or Wrong,” and “Let’s Fall to Pieces Together.” That’s a heck of a lineup for one album. It was also George’s first Platinum-certified record, the one that really kicked his career into high gear.
Right or Wrong showed off everything we love about Strait: the smooth voice, the clean cowboy charm, and that perfect mix of old-school swing and modern Texas twang.
More than 40 years later, those songs still hit like they did back then. If you’re not humming “You Look So Good in Love” by now… you probably will be in a minute.
