Texas is shining bright on Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan’s brand-new CBS competition series, The Road. Two rising artists with Lone Star roots are part of the cast: Billie Jo Jones from Emory, Texas, and Cody Hibbard, who now calls Texas home. Both will hit the road alongside 10 other contestants, opening for Keith Urban while fighting to win over real live audiences night after night.
And they won’t be doing it alone. This season features an all-star lineup of guest advisors, including Dustin Lynch, Karen Fairchild (Little Big Town), Jordan Davis, and Brothers Osborne. Plus, Gretchen Wilson is stepping in as tour manager to share her wisdom from years on the road.
Blake Shelton says the show is all about capturing what it’s really like to be the opener:
“You’ve got just a few minutes to grab the crowd—or lose them. That pressure is what makes The Road so real.”
Catch Billie Jo Jones, Cody Hibbard, and the rest of the cast when The Road premieres Sunday, October 19 at 9 PM ET on CBS (also streaming on Paramount+).
