On this date, August 25th, way back in 2009, Jack Ingram proved that country stars don’t just break records on the charts, they can break them on the airwaves too! To promote his album Big Dreams and High Hopes, Jack went on a nonstop radio interview marathon straight from the base of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Jack attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the “Most Consecutive Radio Interviews in a 24-Hour Period.” The previous record? 72 interviews by Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. Jack aimed way higher: 215 interviews with stations across the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and Australia. Each chat lasted about five minutes, and CMT even streamed the whole thing live.
By the end of the 24 hours, Jack had more than doubled the old record, officially earning the Guinness World Record title. He joked afterward, “After the last 24 hours, I officially have nothing left to say.”
