Jelly Roll took a surprise visit to Chesterfield County Jail this past weekend to spread some love and share his story.
It all started when a program for recovering addicts, HARP (Helping Addicts Recover Progressively) posted a video to TikTok saying “Jelly Roll we need a favor”.
The Chesterfield, Virginia, chapter of HARP (Helping Addicts Recovery Progressively) is a 100% voluntary program dedicated to helping inmates gain and keep sobriety.
“Jelly Roll we need a favor!… We need you to stop by the Chesterfield County Jail… We need you to come through with a hope shot, speak life, love, strength and hope.”

In just over a week the Tiktok got nearly 90,000 likes and over 2,000 comments tagging Jelly Roll.
Well the word got back to Jelly Roll, because yesterday he shared a heartwarming video to his social media speaking with and performing some of his hits with the inmates.
“Always spread love when we can- thank you to the Harp program at the Chesterfield County Jail in Virginia for allowing me to come share some songs with the men and women incarcerated- your program is what is needed in these jails more than anything.”
Jelly Roll has always been very transparent about his past and his journey to success after being incarcerated at only 15 years old after attempting armed robbery. Despite his very busy touring schedule he always manages to spread love wherever he can.
If you would like to hear more about Jelly Roll’s inspiring story, you can watch his documentary “Jelly Roll: Save Me” on Hulu.
