What a fantastic voyage it has been for the Golden Globe recipient who passed away peacefully this morning after recovering from a short illness.
Welch’s manager Steve Sauer reported to PEOPLE on Wednesday
“Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances.”
Born Jo Raquel Tejada, she made her acting debut in A House is Not a Home but gained her status as a ‘sex symbol’ through projects like Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C. Some of her more recent projects include How to be a Latin Lover and Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind.
Variety Writes aside from acting “she became a successful businesswoman over time, launching “Raquel’s Total Beauty and Fitness Program” in the mid-’80s and more recently developing a line of wigs and hair extensions, as well as skincare products.”
Welch even has a memoir titled “Raquel: Beyond the Cleavage” which was published in 2010.
Raquel leaves behind her two children, her son Damon Welch and her daughter Tahnee Welch.
