‘Yellowstone’ is the biggest show on TV right now and a big part of it is due to the authentic cast of characters, so it makes perfect sense that the creator, Taylor Sheridan, approached Cody Johnson to be on the ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff ‘1883’.
CoJo recently sat down with CMT Country’s Carissa Culiner to answer some of the internet’s burning questions about the ‘Dear Rodeo’ singer. When asked if he was in Yellowstone his answer might surprise some:
“Taylor Sheridan actually approached me about being in ‘1883.’ I couldn’t make it work because of my schedule. We were already booked. Acting is something I really would like to do,” he says. “I was in theater in high school. I feel like It would be fun to kind of dive into the whelm of playing the bad guy or being something the complete opposite of what I am in real life… Taylor, figure it out. We got to do this, buddy. There needs to be a little bit more team roping on ‘Yellowstone,’”
I mean how great would that be?!? we already have rising star Lainey Wilson joining the cast in the upcoming 5th season. Of course, Ryan Bingham, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill are all part of the Yellowstone world so Cody would be right at home.
