Who would have thought that native Texan and legendary country singer/songwriter Billy Joe Shaver would have been friends with the greatest stand-up comedian ever, Canadian Norm MacDonald? Man, the stories the two could tell.
We lost Shaver in 2020 and Norm last year, but they continue to live on, and are even featured together in projects released after their death.
Norm recorded a final stand-up set before his death that Netflix released last week and Billy Joe is the last voice you hear during the special. An unreleased version of the Shaver staple ‘Old Chunk Of Coal’ with long-time guitarist and surrogate son Jeremy Lynn Woodall plays as the credits roll.
