The whole Chris Gaines thing was weird.
Garth Brooks decided to have a rock alter ego for a movie that never happened. He released an album as Gaines and even had him as his musical guest when he hosted Saturday Night Live. The fake singer had one his with ‘Lost In You’ which made it all the way to the pop top 5.
Folks have covered the song before but maybe no one as well as the super talented Childish Gambino AKA Donald Glover.
Glover might just be the most talented guy in show business. His musical range is wild, he’s a great dramatic and comedic actor, a successful stand up comedian and has written for shows like Atlanta and one of my favorites 30 Rock “Good God Lemon!”
Gambino did it for Like A Version, a weekly segment on the Australian radio show, Triple J. What makes it extra funny is Gaines was supposed to be from Austrilia. Garth eating Shrimp on the barbie… wow.
