This past Saturday we learned of the passing of country music legend Naomi Judd. According to family, she passed at the age of 76 just outside of Nashville due to the disease of mental illness.
On Sunday, Daughter Ashley and Wynona spoke as The Judds were inducted into the County Music Hall Of Fame:
“I didn’t prepare anything tonight because I knew mom would probably talk the most. I’m gonna make this fast because my heart’s broken, and I feel so blessed and it’s a very strange dynamic to be this broken and this blessed. Though my heart is broken I will continue to sing.” – Wynona Judd
An outpouring of kind words from the country music community have been coming through and now there will be a 30-minute special airing on Tuesday, May 3rd; CMT Remembers: Naomi Judd at 9p/8c on CMT.
The special tribute will also include footage from her final interview at the CMT Awards last month, as well as coverage of The Judds’ emotional induction ceremony from Sunday night.
It will air multiple times throughout the week.
