Aaron Watson took advantage of his time at home not being able to tour and wrote a boatload of songs, and now we’re getting a second album from it.
In a sit-down with the Whiskey Riff podcast, the Honky Tonk Kid gave us some details on his upcoming project. Unwanted Man will be Watson’s 14th album and will be released on Friday, June 17th.
The self-produced album will feature 11 songs, 9 of which are solo writes and 2 are co-writes, this will be unlike any other album of his, when talking about how he chose the songs from his long list of writes during lockdown he said; “It was really the first time I was like ‘there is no theme, these are my songs.”

The title track was released back in January.
Aaron told the story of his latest release ‘Cheap Seats’ in a TikTok video. He wrote the song for Eric Church but it never got to him so he decided to cut it himself. It totally sounds like a Church tune but Watson makes it his own and it’s a certified banger.
