Alright, alright, alright.
Matthew McConaughey may or may not be running for governor of the great state of Texas and if he does he has a legitimate chance to win according to many official poles.
And he isn’t shying away from talking politics. In a recent interview with the New York Times, McConaughey said he is worried about the state of the country right now and that there is an unnamed third party out there that the majority of folks are a part of.
“Look, are the parties so extreme right now that they’re going to walk their way into extinction? I don’t know. What I fear is, you know, great nations aren’t taken over from the outside. They implode.
I think people want a third party and we’ve got one and it doesn’t have a name right now and it is the majority. I’m hesitant to throw labels.
You throw a third party and make it— give it a name, it all of a sudden becomes something that is divisive. But there is a sleeping giant right now. And it’s the majority.
Third party, centrist… I think it’s necessary to be aggressively centric to possibly salvage democracy in America right now.”
So again who knows if he will run for public office or not, and he’ll even talk about the tough stuff. He mentioned the vaccine too and a small number of folks didn’t like that.
I just want to see him in a good movie again.
