The Texas Women’s Basketball (21-10) season came to an end Tuesday night in a loss to No. 1 Seed South Carolina, 62 – 34. The Longhorns played tough against the Gamecocks, but South Carolina stayed consistent in their offense, defense, and scoring, making it difficult for Texas to gain momentum.
Junior G/F Audrey Warren was the only Longhorn hitting double digits, putting up 13 points and 5 rebounds. Season top scorer Charli Collier made only 4 points and 4 rebounds. South Carolina had five players in double digit scoring before the night was over. Overall Texas was 23% from the field compared to SC’s 43.9%.
The sinker came in the fourth quarter, as the Gamecocks outscored the Longhorns 10-0.
This was the final game for Junior 6’5″ F/C Charli Collier, she will enter the WNBA Draft next month and is expected to be a top pick.
