When someone says they caught a fish nearly as big as them, they usually are stretching the truth a bit or flat out lying. But that’s not the case for 12-year-old Cade Childress.
Cade who only weighs about 85-pounds reeled in a massive 72-pound, 50-inch blue catfish on Lake Tawakoni east of Dallas. USA Today reports that he broke the Texas state record for the Junior Angler Division which sat at a 67-pound catch back in 2019.
The best part is that Cade was fishing with his grandfather who gave him the gift to go fishing with Whisk’R Fish’N Trophy Guide Service. So thanks grandpa, a gift with lots of memories.
