Texas, the No. 3 seed in the NCAA East Division stayed neck and neck with Abilene Christian Saturday night in the final game of the day, as Texas lost a heartbreaker 53 – 52.
Kai Jones finished with 11 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, and went 4-5 field goal shots. Andrew Jones, ended with 13 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and went 4-9 field goal shots. Jericho Simms also had 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 3-3 field goal shots.
This was only the second post season tournament game for the AC Wildcats. Texas ended the season ranked No. 9 in final AP Poll.
Tonight marks just the fifth time since 1985 that the Horns claimed a top-three seed, after winning the Big 12 tournament title for the first time in school history.
