Nice shot!
We all know the saying ‘kill two birds with one stone’, but now thanks to 11-year-old Skyla Crowley, we have a new saying ‘two deer with one shot’.
Skyla was hunting with her dad Andy, and was carrying a .20 gauge shotgun which she had never fired before, when she spotted a buck about 30 yards from their blind. She took aim and fired. Not only was it a great shot, but there was a surprise too.
“I waited and finally the buck stood straight and I took a shot at him. The buck fell over and the doe behind it fell over too,” Skyla said.
That’s right the one shot went through the buck and into the other deer.
Dad was just as thrilled, even after having to drag them 100 yards.
“I stared at them for two minutes and I can’t believe that happened. I’d never heard of it. It’s possible it’s happened before. We’ll have a story for a lifetime,” said Andy.
Some good ole father daughter bonding. Gotta love it.
