Today marks four years since Miranda Lambert released her double album ‘The Weight Of These Wings’.
The 24-song collection is considered by many her best work. It is widely successful winning an ACM ‘Album of the Year’ hitting number one on the Country Billboard and number 3 on the all-genre billboard charts, but with so many songs a lot of folks have heard it in it’s entirety.
Part one or disc one ‘The Nerve’ has those hard-hitting “I’m a bad girl” tracks that she releases from time to time but it’s her slow jams that really make it what it is. ‘Vice’ saw radio success and has a fantastic video.
My personal favorite from part one is ‘Smoking Jacket’. It’s kinda like that Cake song Short Skirt/Long Jacket expect the complete opposite. To be clear both songs are great.
Part two ‘the Heart’ is just as good and has the Jack Ingram co-written tune ‘Tin Man’. The ACM 2018 Song of the Year gives ya chills every time.
So if you haven’t heard the entire album take some time and listen to it from start to finish.
