If you’ve ever joked about having a dream job working with dogs, this might be the wildest one yet.
A New York-based pet food company is offering up to $1,000 an hour for two very unusual gigs: one person to smell dogs’ breath, and another to accept and rate dog kisses.
Yes, seriously.
The company behind it, Spot & Tango, says the roles are part of testing a new dental chew designed to improve dogs’ oral hygiene.
Here’s how it works:
The selected candidates would visit dog parks around New York City, interact with different dogs, and document what they experience. That includes evaluating breath quality, noting smells, and even rating those slobbery kisses.
The pay? Up to $1,000 an hour.
The catch? You’ve got to be very comfortable getting up close and personal with a lot of dogs.
According to the job descriptions, ideal applicants should have a strong sense of smell, attention to detail, and of course, a genuine love for dogs. Experience in areas like pet care or scent-related work is a bonus, but not required.
No word on how many hours are actually available, but still… not bad if you don’t mind a little dog breath.
If you’re actually interested (or just curious), you can find more details about the positions and application process through Spot & Tango’s official website.
