Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Stevens is on the mend after a recent fall that left him with a broken neck.
The 87-year-old legend was injured on Sunday, March 29 and briefly hospitalized in the Nashville area. He’s now back home recovering. Doctors have him in a neck brace for the next several weeks, but thankfully, he’s in good spirits and still able to get around.
Despite the setback, Stevens is not slowing down.
His brand new album, Favorites Old & New, is still set to drop this Friday, April 10 on Curb Records.
The 13-track project mixes classic standards with newer material, which feels right at home for someone who’s built a career on both humor and heartfelt storytelling. The album includes familiar songs like “The Look of Love,” “It Had To Be You,” and “Come Rain or Come Shine,” along with newer cuts like “Time Machine” and “Moving Out Is Easier Than Moving On.”
Stevens says the project is a true reflection of his personal taste, blending songs he’s always loved with newer ones that caught his ear along the way.
Stevens and his team are asking for continued thoughts and prayers as he recovers. If you’d like to send well wishes, cards can be mailed to:
