If you’ve followed his story at all, you know this one means a little more. Jelly Roll has been pretty open about the long road it took to get here. Years ago he was just trying to survive and figure life out. Now he’s standing on the stage that legends like Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and George Jones helped turn into the heart of country music.
The invitation actually came last year in a moment that caught him completely off guard. During a podcast appearance, country singer Craig Morgan popped up on screen and surprised Jelly Roll with the official invitation to join the Opry. The emotion on his face said everything you needed to know about what that meant to him.
Since then, his career has continued to explode. Songs like “Save Me” and “Need a Favor” have connected with fans across country, rock, and hip-hop audiences, and his shows have turned into full-on revival style sing-alongs.
But if you’ve ever seen him play the Opry stage, you know this wasn’t just another gig for him. That wooden circle means something different.
Now it’s official. Jelly Roll isn’t just visiting the Opry anymore.
He’s part of it.
