Jake Worthington is set to cover one of the most iconic songs in country music history.
The Texas traditionalist will put his voice on He Stopped Loving Her Today, the 1980 hit made famous by George Jones. The track will appear on Gavin Adcock’s forthcoming project, Country Never Dies.
Widely considered one of the greatest country songs of all time, “He Stopped Loving Her Today” helped cement Jones’ legacy and remains a benchmark for traditional country storytelling. The song tells the story of a man whose love lasts until his final breath, and it continues to resonate more than four decades later.
Worthington, known for leaning into classic country influences, shared that he is honored to record a song by one of his heroes as part of Adcock’s new project.
Country Never Dies is expected to arrive March 13.
