The Red Clay Strays dropped a brand new song called “If I Didn’t Know You,” and the music video comes with a couple famous faces you’ll probably recognize.
Instead of playing it like a normal performance video, it tells a simple story about two strangers who share a moment and feel that instant connection.
The guy in the video is comedian Matt Rife. The woman he meets is played by model and influencer Mariah Morse. You basically watch their almost-romance unfold while the band sings about how life would look if you’d never met the person who changed everything.
The song was written by the band’s Drew Nix with hit songwriter Natalie Hemby, and it leans into the tender, emotional side of the Strays.
Dropping it around Valentine’s Day was smart, and having Matt Rife in the video is already pulling in a whole new crowd of viewers.
The song is out everywhere now, and you can watch the video above.
