There’s new music on the way, and Koe Wetzel is giving fans the first taste of his next chapter.
The Texas favorite released “Time Goes On” this week, calling it one of his personal standouts from the upcoming project.
“We wrote this as an acknowledgment of how quickly life moves, whether you embrace the changes that come with it or not,” Koe shared.
Lyrically, it’s reflective, honest, and very much in line with the way he’s been balancing growth with grit. In the chorus, he sings:
“I could have done a lot of things right / I could have done a lot of things wrong / Could be pouring concrete on a West Texas street / But I’m writing this song.
Crazy how the years go fast / Crazy how the hours feel long / Even through the mistakes and the can’t get through this / Time goes on.”
If you’ve followed Koe’s rise, you can hear the perspective that comes with it. The late nights, the lessons, the reality that none of us are slowing the clock down.

The new release follows a monster run from his 2024 album 9 Lives, which included the five-week No. 1 “High Road” with Jessie Murph. That track went on to become the most-played song of 2025 according to Mediabase, pushing Koe even further into the national spotlight while he continues to keep one boot planted in Texas.
Bottom line: a new era is brewing, and if this song is the indicator, it’s going to be a meaningful ride.
You can stream “Time Goes On” now wherever you get your music, and we’ll keep you posted as more details about the full record roll in.
