Two country legends and a familiar Hollywood name are getting a well-earned nod from the West.
Toby Keith and Kenny Rogers have been announced as inductees for the 65th Annual Western Heritage Awards, set for April 11 in Oklahoma City. Academy Award-nominated actor Ed Harris will also be among the distinguished names inducted this year.
The ceremony, hosted by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, honors artists and storytellers who have helped preserve and promote Western culture through music, film, television, and literature.
Toby Keith will be inducted posthumously into the Hall of Great Western Performers, Kenny Rogers will also be inducted and recognized for a career built on songs that painted vivid, lasting stories of American life.
Ed Harris will be honored for his body of work portraying Western characters on screen, adding a film and television legacy to this year’s class of inductees.
All honorees will receive the Wrangler Award, the bronze cowboy statue that serves as the official symbol of the Western Heritage Awards.
