Country music legend Dolly Parton has just released a powerful new version of her beloved classic “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.”
The updated track features her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, rising country star Lainey Wilson, plus appearances from Queen Latifah and Reba McEntire and it sounds exactly like you’d hope … warm, hopeful, and full of big harmonies.
If you’re not familiar, Dolly originally released “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” back in 1977. It’s one of those songs about making it through a rough patch and finally seeing some light again.
This release also lands right as Dolly gets ready to celebrate her 80th birthday on January 19, and she’s using the moment to do some good. Proceeds from the single and music video are going to support pediatric cancer research at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, a cause she’s been tied to for years.
