Texas singer-songwriter Julianna Rankin just signed with Big Loud Texas, the label run by Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall in partnership with Big Loud Records. It’s a big step for Rankin, who’s quickly becoming one of the names to watch coming out of the Texas scene.
Rankin said the signing felt “cosmic” and that she’s excited to work with a team that puts real songwriting first. She also mentioned how much it means to be surrounded by “true music people,” giving credit to Lambert and Randall for supporting artists in a genuine way.
Miranda Lambert shared her excitement too, saying Rankin’s voice has both soul and classic country in it and that she thinks listeners are really going to connect with it.
To mark the occasion, Rankin released a new track today called “Bad Habits and Good Horses.” She co-wrote the song, and it will also appear in the season finale of the TV series Landman, giving it an extra spotlight.
Big Loud Texas launched last year with the goal of supporting Texas and Americana artists and keeping their creative roots close to home. Rankin now joins a roster that continues to grow and make noise in the industry.
