Terri Clark, Trisha Yearwood, Suzy Bogguss and Kathy Mattea (Chris Hollo for the Grand Ole Opry)
Reba McEntire will officially induct Suzy Bogguss into the Grand Ole Opry early next year, and honestly, this one feels long overdue.
The induction is set for January 16, 2026, with Reba doing the honors which makes a lot of sense, considering both artists helped define country music in the ’90s and beyond.
Suzy Bogguss got the surprise invitation back in October while attending Kathy Mattea’s Opry induction. During the show, Mattea paused to invite Suzy to become a member herself, making it the first time in Opry history that an invitation happened during another artist’s induction. Suzy, understandably emotional, said yes.
With Reba McEntire welcoming her into the Opry family, it’s a full-circle moment for one of country music’s most respected voices and another reminder that the ’90s girls are still very much having their moment.
