Rodeo Austin just picked up a big win of its own. The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) has named Rodeo Austin the Outstanding Rodeo Committee Partner for 2025, recognizing the Austin crew for the way they champion women in rodeo and support the growth of the sport.
The honor highlights Rodeo Austin’s strong partnership with the WPRA, specifically their commitment to spotlighting female athletes in Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping, both fan-favorite events featured every night during Rodeo Austin’s ProRodeo in March.
Rodeo Austin CEO Glen Alan Phillips says the team is proud to work alongside the WPRA, the oldest women’s sports organization in the country. “We are humbled to be recognized for our commitment to these athletes and the growth of the sport of rodeo,” he shared.
This wasn’t the only recognition Rodeo Austin picked up this year. The WPRA also acknowledged them in the 2025 Justin Best Footing Awards, which celebrate committees that provide safe, top-quality footing for barrel racing horses and rodeo livestock. Rodeo Austin placed third in the Texas Circuit, another nod to how seriously they take the safety and success of both the human and animal athletes.
If this all sounds familiar, it’s because Rodeo Austin has been on a roll. Last year, they were the inaugural winner of the Mega Rodeo of the Year Award, recognizing rodeos that offer $25,000 or more in added money per event.
Rodeo Austin’s biggest event of the year, the annual Fair & Rodeo, returns March 13–28, 2026, and tickets go on sale in January. Get ready, Austin… rodeo season will be here before we know it.
