Thanksgiving in Texas always comes with a few guarantees: family, football, and a halftime show that gets everyone talking. This year, Post Malone took the AT&T Stadium stage for the annual Red Kettle Kickoff, delivering a short but meaningful performance in front of his hometown team, the Dallas Cowboys.
The set was tight and to the point, mixing “Wrong Ones,” “Wow.” and his recent hit “I Had Some Help.” Instead of going for a massive production or big spectacle, Post kept things stripped down and focused, offering a show that felt more personal than flashy.
One of the most memorable moments came near the end of the set, when Post Malone honored former Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who passed away earlier this month. Wearing a “#94” button, he looked out at the crowd and said, “We love you, 94,” closing his performance on an emotional note that clearly struck fans both in the stadium and at home.
For Post, this wasn’t just another gig, it was full-circle. He grew up a Cowboys fan, spent time at the stadium as a kid, (his dad worked there) and has talked openly about how much the team means to him.
Reactions online were mixed, as you’d expect: some people loved the down-to-earth vibe, others wanted a little more energy or a longer set, and a few were surprised by the more country-leaning sound. But whether you thought it was incredible or just okay, it’s hard to deny that Post delivered a heartfelt moment rooted in Texas pride.
Overall? It wasn’t the flashiest Cowboys halftime show we’ve ever seen, but it was honest, emotionally grounded, and very Post Malone.
