Chris Stapleton just took a perfectly good country song and turned it into a full-on movie moment. He dropped a brand-new music video for “White Horse,” and instead of keeping it simple, he went big… like Hollywood big.
Josh Brolin (aka “No Country for Old Men,” “Outer Range,” Thanos, the whole deal) shows up as the star of the video. And honestly? He fits right in with the dusty Texas desert backdrop.
The video was filmed out in Marfa, because of course it was and nothing says “moody cowboy chaos” like Marfa. It’s got all the Western-movie vibes: wide open spaces, a couple on the run, a gruff lawman and a storyline that feels like it could turn into a Netflix series if someone gave Chris a budget.
The directors said they originally planned for a straight action-love-story kind of thing… but once Brolin stepped in, it turned into something deeper, more about trust, letting go, and choosing your own path. Oh, and Chris and Morgane Stapleton pop up in cameo roles, which fans are going to love spotting.
Even though “White Horse” came out back in 2023, this video makes it feel brand new again. It’s gritty, dramatic, and just flat-out cool, the kind of thing you want to watch twice so you can catch all the little details … or at least I did.
If you haven’t seen it yet, go give it a watch.
And honestly? More music videos should be shot like this. Just saying.
