Nickelback is dipping its toes into late-80s country nostalgia, teaming up with Shenandoah for a new take on the 1989 hit “The Church on Cumberland Road.”
Yes, you read that right. Nickelback. Shenandoah. Same sentence.
“We’ve always had a deep respect for the artists who came before us, and Shenandoah is one of those bands that helped define an era,” says Chad Kroeger, who sounds genuinely thrilled about the whole thing. “Getting the chance to collaborate with them on ‘The Church on Cumberland Road’ was an absolute blast. It’s a song that feels as vibrant today as it did when it first came out.”
There’s even an animated music video to go with it. Because of course there is. You can watch it above and decide for yourself whether this is the crossover you never knew you needed… or one you absolutely did not ask for.
