It’s finally happening, y’all. Cody Johnson is officially releasing his version of “Travelin’ Soldier” this Friday, November 7th and fans have been waiting on this one for a long time.
If you’ve been around the CoJo camp for a while, you probably remember his stripped-down performance of the song that’s been floating around online for years. It’s one of those songs that just hits you right in the gut – simple, emotional, and classic Cody.
Originally written by Bruce Robison and made famous by The (Dixie) Chicks, “Travelin’ Soldier” tells a story that never really gets old. Cody’s take on it has already become a fan favorite, and now we finally get the studio version we’ve all been asking for.
He teased the release on Instagram this week with a simple “FRIDAY” and a pre-save link because honestly, he knows we’ve all been waiting for this one.
