Big news for two of country music’s biggest voices, Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood’s powerhouse duet “I’m Gonna Love You” has officially been certified Platinum.
The emotional love song has been climbing charts and melting hearts since it dropped last fall, and now it’s officially crossed the one million sales and streaming mark.
“I’m Gonna Love You” was a dream pairing from the start with Cody Johnson’s traditional Texas grit mixed with Carrie Underwood’s powerhouse vocals. The song appeared on Cody’s Leather (Deluxe) album, and the two debuted it live together at the CMA Awards last November, earning a standing ovation that pretty much told us where this one was headed.
It later went all the way to #1 at country radio, giving Cody another big chart-topper and Carrie another hit to add to her already massive career.
The track is one of those songs that just feels timeless with honest lyrics, big harmonies, and that kind of country soul that’s been harder to find lately. It’s the kind of duet that reminds you why collaboration still matters in country music.
For Cody, it’s another step forward in a run that’s been nothing but momentum and for Carrie, it’s yet another reminder that when she leans traditional, she’s unstoppable.
