Country music legend Charley Pride, the trailblazer who broke barriers as the genre’s first Black superstar, will be honored with an induction into the Music City Walk of Fame on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 1 PM in Nashville.
Pride’s incredible career not only changed the sound of country music but also the face of it. With over 50 Top 10 hits and 29 No. 1 singles, including timeless classics like “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” and “Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone,” he became one of the most successful country artists of all time. In 2000, he made history again as the first Black member inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Born in Sledge, Mississippi, and later calling Texas home, Charley’s smooth baritone voice, humble presence, and undeniable talent paved the way for generations of artists who followed. His Music City Walk of Fame star will stand as a permanent reminder of his groundbreaking legacy and the barriers he broke through in the name of great country music. It is a fitting tribute to a man whose voice and story will forever echo through Music City.
