Ah yes, Super Bowl season … when football fans turn into halftime show critics overnight. (Insert eye roll here.)
After the NFL announced Bad Bunny as this year’s halftime headliner, a group of country fans decided they’d had enough and started an online petition to replace him with The King of Country, George Strait.
The petition claims the show should “unite our country, honor American culture, and remain family friendly.” As of today, it had more than 6,675 signatures, which sounds impressive until you remember the NFL isn’t exactly scrolling Change.org for programming ideas.
George hasn’t said a word about it (and he WON’T) and Bad Bunny doesn’t seem bothered either. During his Saturday Night Live monologue earlier this month, he told everyone they’ve got “four months to learn Spanish.”
Nice try, y’all, but unless George suddenly decides he’s bored of retirement or gets a phone call from Jay Z, this petition isn’t changing the halftime show lineup anytime soon .. but if you’d like to make your voice heard, you can sign it HERE.
