Talk about a full-circle country moment! Right after Kathy Mattea officially became the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, she turned around and made history again by inviting her longtime friend Suzy Bogguss to join the Opry family, too!
In the middle of performing her signature song, “Eighteen Wheels and A Dozen Roses,” Kathy stopped the show to deliver the big surprise. Standing beside her were fellow country stars and Opry members Terri Clark and Trisha Yearwood, making the moment even more special.
The two ’90s country favorites have been friends and tourmates for years, so watching Kathy welcome Suzy as the newest Opry sister was the kind of emotional, full-circle country moment that fans dream about.
Congratulations to both Kathy Mattea and Suzy Bogguss, two timeless voices officially taking their well-deserved place in Opry history.
