October 11, 2003 was one of those wild “thank goodness nobody got hurt” kind of nights in country music.
Pat Green’s tour bus was parked on a street in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, after a show when a 22-year-old man decided to pull out a .22-caliber rifle and shoot at it, shattering one of the windows.
Luckily, Pat and his crew weren’t on the bus at the time, and nobody was hurt. Police tracked down the shooter a few blocks away and arrested him pretty quick. Turns out he didn’t even know Pat and he was just out there acting a fool. Pat went on to finish the tour and, in true Texas fashion, brushed it off and kept rolling down the road.
That same year, Pat was riding high on his breakout hit “Wave on Wave,” proving that nothing – not even a shattered bus window – could slow down a Texas boy.
