Well, that was not on our ACL Festival bingo card.
Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter turned her Saturday night set at Zilker Park into a full-blown crossover moment when she brought out none other than Shania Twain to sing “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
One minute Sabrina’s wrapping up her set and the next thing you know, the queen of leopard print strolls out like it’s 1998 again.
From the videos floating around, the crowd went absolutely nuts. You can hear people screaming before Shania even hits the stage. Sabrina’s grinning ear to ear and Shania looks cool as ever.
It’s honestly the perfect mix with the current pop queen of catchy songs teaming up with the woman who made every ‘90s kid believe they could rock leopard print too. Even if you weren’t there (like me), watching it still gives you chills.
People online are calling it a “passing the torch” moment, and I get it. Sabrina’s got that same mix of sass and sparkle that made Shania a superstar. Plus, how fun is it seeing ACL go full country-pop for a minute?
Check out the video below because this might be one of the coolest festival surprises we’ve seen in a while.
