Waylon Jennings may be gone, but the music just keeps on coming. Today, a brand-new album called Songbird dropped, and it’s the first of THREE albums worth of never-before-heard Waylon songs.
His son Shooter Jennings dug through piles of old tapes last year and found a treasure chest of music his dad recorded between the early ’70s and mid ’80s. Shooter pulled it all together and mixed it at the famous Sunset Sound Studio in Hollywood.
The album has ten songs on it, with Waylon’s band The Waylors all over it, including his longtime drummer Richie Albright and pedal steel legend Ralph Mooney. You’ll also hear some special guests like Tony Joe White and Waylon’s wife Jessi Colter.
