Lainey Wilson stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night and gave fans a mix of laughs, real talk, and one powerful performance.
In her interview, Lainey opened up about growing up in Baskin, Louisiana, a town of just 157 people, and how those small-town roots shaped her music. She even joked about the first song she ever wrote at nine years old, which just happened to be about tequila and cigarettes. She also shared stories from her early Nashville days, including living in a camper trailer for three years while chasing her dream.
After the chat, Lainey hit the stage in a bold all-pink outfit to perform “Somewhere Over Laredo.” The performance came just days after she had to postpone a Houston show due to vocal issues, and it was a strong sign she’s ready to get back out on the road.
From her honesty on the couch to her confidence on stage, Lainey reminded everyone why she’s quickly become one of country music’s biggest stars.
