This fall, country and Texas music icon Pat Green will make history at one of the state’s most legendary venues. On November 7 and 8, 2025, Green will record his long-awaited new live album inside the famed Luckenbach Dancehall, marking the first time since Jerry Jeff Walker that the venue has opened its doors for a live album recording.
The two-night event will be especially meaningful for Green. Not only will it mark his 17th performance in Luckenbach, but the historic Hill Country spot also holds a personal place in his story – he and his wife were married there in 2000.
“Luckenbach has been part of my story for a long time,” said Green. “These songs just feel different when you play them in a place like this.”
Green follows in the footsteps of his hero, Jerry Jeff Walker, who cut two legendary live albums at the venue – Viva Terlingua! (1973) and Viva Luckenbach! (1994). This upcoming release will be Green’s first live album since his classic Live at Billy Bob’s Texas, recorded back in 1998. Fans can expect the new project to capture the same raw energy and authentic Texas spirit that has defined both Green’s career and Luckenbach’s legacy.
“I’ve always wanted to do another live record and capture the songs that built such a strong bond with fans,” Green added. “These are the ones people tell me stories about, the ones they sing every word to.”
Over his more than two-decade career, Green has earned a loyal following through his heartfelt songwriting and electric live shows. He often cites Jerry Jeff Walker, along with Walt Wilkins and Jimmy Buffett, as his biggest influences. Walker’s Viva Terlingua! was the first record Green ever owned, and as a young songwriter, he even visited Walker’s Austin home to soak up wisdom firsthand.
Founded in 1849, Luckenbach has become a mecca for Texas music lovers worldwide, immortalized in the Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson classic “Luckenbach, Texas.” Hosting Green’s new recording continues that storied tradition and gives fans a chance to witness Texas music history in an intimate setting.
Tickets are on sale now for both nights, and fans are encouraged to grab them early for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Special guest performers will be announced soon.
