Country music fans got a surprise this week Dolly Parton and the Zac Brown Band have teamed up on a brand-new song called “Butterfly.” The track dropped on September 5th and is part of Zac Brown Band’s upcoming album, Love & Fear, which releases December 5th.
The song leans on themes of hope, change, and finding your strength through life’s ups and downs. Dolly’s signature vocals blend with Zac’s smooth sound, giving the song a heartfelt and uplifting vibe. Zac Brown co-wrote “Butterfly” alongside Sasha Sirota, Dan Auerbach, Stephen Lamb, and Kristin Wilkinson.
According to Zac, he sent Dolly a few song options, and she immediately chose “Butterfly.”
Her response? “That’s the one, honey — don’t give it to anyone else.”
And just like that, the collaboration was locked in.
