So, Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum just pulled off something pretty awesome this past Sunday (August 17, 2025) at the Moody Center in Austin. They hosted a benefit concert called “Band Together Texas” to help out folks hit hard by the July 4 flash floods in Central Texas. And guess what? They’ve already raised over $8.5 million (and it’s still counting) for the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and the Central Texas Community Foundation.
It was a sold-out, nearly three-hour show that was broadcast everywhere. (You can actually watch the whole show HERE.)
Matthew McConaughey kicked things off with a heartfelt opening: he reminded everyone not to let the memory of the flood and the struggle it caused fade away. His message? Even in tough times, we gotta choose joy and keep the light shining.
Then Miranda and Parker took the stage together, opened with a sweet cover of George Strait’s “True,” and let the good vibes roll. Parker gave a shoutout, saying Miranda texted him right away asking, “What can we do?” He was like, “I’ll do whatever,” and boom – it happened.
The night was packed with Texas legends: Wade Bowen, Lyle Lovett, Cody Johnson, Ronnie Dunn, Jack Ingram, Lukas Nelson, Pat Green, Ryan Bingham… seriously, so many amazing artists. And there were surprise guests too! Jason Aldean stuck around after playing there the night before, lent his stage crew, and came back to jam “She’s Country” and a duet on “Amarillo Sky” with Miranda.
Then, all the stars got together for the finale, an epic group performance of Willie Nelson’s classic “On the Road Again.” It was the perfect wrap to a magical night.
