When Jon Wolfe throws a party, he really throws a party. On August 10th, “Jon Wolfe & Friends: Hill Country Flood Relief Benefit” took over the legendary Gruene Hall in Gruene and by the end of the night, they’d raised more than $115,000 to help Texans impacted by devastating floods.
And this wasn’t just any lineup. Wolfe was joined by a dream team of country talent: Tracy Byrd, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, William Beckmann, Radney Foster, Kelly Willis, Jake Worthington, Kylie Frey, Bleu Edmondson, Billie Jo Jones, Walker Montgomery, David Lewis, Clay Hollis, and Cody Hibbard all lending their voices (and hearts) to the cause.
“It was a true testament to the heart of the Hill Country and the selfless people that live and visit here,” Wolfe said. “The floods in Kerr County and surrounding areas have left such a massive need for help — I’m beyond thankful to have the opportunity to work with Gruene Hall and humbled by the amazing artists that gave their time and talents.”
Between the good music, good company, and a cause that hit close to home, it was one of those nights that proves country music’s heart is just as big as Texas.
