Chris Young should have taken his own advice and left the bar when he had the chance but “Aw Naw.” According to NBC, the singer was arrested and charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct Monday night.
The incident began around 8:30 P.M. at Tin Roof, a bar just a few blocks down from the Country Music Hall of Fame, when Young had his ID checked by Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commision. The singer alleged that some of the agents, who were not in obvious uniforms, took a photo of his license, so he followed them to the bar next door.
Here’s where things get dicey.
Joseph T Phillips, an agent with the Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commision, claimed Young tried to prevent him from leaving the bar and struck him on the shoulder. Phillips claims he pushed the singer back to create distance between them, however, newly released video footage of the incident is raising some questions about what actually happened.
Though Chris Young hasn’t publicly spoken out about the incident, his attorney is requesting an apology.
