Legendary rock and roll singer Tina Turner has died at age 83. The news was shared on her official Facebook page Wednesday.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” the statement said on Facebook. “With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”
The platinum star and trailblazer in the industry died Wednesday after “after a long illness” in her home near Zurich, Switzerland, her reps announced. “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”
Tina Turners most famous singles include Private Dancer, We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome), What’s Love Got To Do With It plus many, many more.
There’ll Always Be Music was originally written by Dolly Parton and first released from Dolly & Porter Wagoner in 1973. Tina Turner covered it for her very first solo album Tina Turns The Country On in 1974.
