On this day in 1937 award winning singer, songwriter, & guitarist Merle Haggard was born in Oildale, California. Merle was induced into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and scored 38 #1 Country Music hits over his career.
Merle passed away on his 79th birthday, April 6th, 2016.
