The legend Charley Pride is getting a movie made about him.
The film will be titled ‘American Pride’ and is in large part thanks to native Texan Dennis Quaid’s involvement. The 67-year-old actor met with Pride multiple times before he passed in 2020 to discuss the project. Quaid is a producer and according to Whiskey Riff he will play Pride’s best friend “Cowboy” Jack Clement.
Quaid is a huge fan of country music, he played a country singer/boxer in the 80s film ‘Tough Enough’ stared in one of Midland’s videos and is a country singer and guitar player himself in his band ‘The Sharks’.
Craig Brewer, who directed Hustle & Flow, Dolemite, and Coming 2 America, will be directing.
